Getting your Real Estate License

Where to go to get the proper education?

The first step required to become a Real Estate agent is Realtor Licensing. To become a Real Estate agent you have to spend many hours studying all aspects of Real Estate including Law, Ethics, Agency, Commercial, Residential etc…Also, Agents and Brokers are required to maintain their education on a yearly basis by taking continuing education courses so that they keep current with the laws and trends of the industry. There are many quality schools for this education and it is important to find one that meets all the requirements based on the State where you want to be licensed.

The first step to getting your Real Estate license is to find the school that fits your current situation. If you are currently not working or have the extra time then it would probably benefit you to find a Real Estate school with classroom instruction. You will be required to attend class and will have the opportunity to learn from a certified instructor. If you are currently employed or don’t have the time to attend class then a great option is an online Real Estate school. Here you will have the option to study on your own time and take online exams at your leisure.

Whichever option you choose, make sure the school is accredited by the State. Also, check to see what the student pass ratio is and if the school offers extra instruction if you fail to pass the State exam. As a graduate of an online Real Estate school, I can testify that it is a great way to get your Real Estate license.

Continuing Education for Realtors

Keeping your License current

Every State requires Realtors to keep up with continuing education. Many free classes are offered throughout the year by Board of Realtor Associations, Title Companies, marketing companies etc… Check with your State to find out how many hours are required every year and make sure you keep up with the requirements. If you fail to take the necessary hours you will risk having your license suspended until you bring it up to the requirements.

Online Real Estate schools are a great place to continue your education and further your Real Estate training. The flexibility offered by online schools makes it easy to take continuing education classes.
